Well, we have reached the peak of summer during a pandemic. I feel like my boys and I had just gotten used to the structure we had created with homeschool. However, now that school is “out” and this strange summer has begun, I feel myself pivoting once again.

My community and I accomplished a huge task last week, and I thought it a perfect time to share. At the beginning of May, I initiated a 30-day push-up challenge. We all started with 5 push-ups and kept increasing the number until we reached 60 push-ups. It was a tough challenge, but with the help of the community (mostly virtual), we were able to conquer it!
This week I made a tough decision that put an end to a very cherished chapter in my life. After a lot of thought, I decided to end my time at the gym where I worked as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer for over ten years. This was a very difficult decision because I created a family within the community of this gym. This community is a large part of the reason why I truly enjoy my job as a fitness instructor. The friends I made in my cycling and strength training group classes have supported and trusted me inside and outside of the gym. I have created strong bonds with these people, and the thought of leaving the place that initiated these bonds was unthinkable for a long time.
